I like the "been there" look of your late war HP35 "b" block.
The Mauser P38 looks pretty good from the pictures.
The holster, as you probably know, is postwar.

          All the best,

          Douglas.

That little kitty is Fynn, his brother is Figgins, we got them at the Humane society, we couldnt bare to part them being brothers so we took both of them, Figgins is camera shy lol.... Fynn has to be every where you are, we cant sit on the floor or table and read the paper without Fynn walking onto the paper and laying down, the little noggin... lol...

Unsure whether it's perhaps just the lighting but the grips the P.38 is wearing appear a strange colour not like any I've seen before.

                        HI Scharfschutze,

You are correct. Those grips appear to be reproductions. For Mauser grips of that time period there should be 6 broken lines around the grip screws. Those grips have 7. The lines in the grips should also be grooved. I can't tell for sure from the picture but it appears the lines are protruding.

                        Regards, Leon

                          Leon,

You're absolutely correct. Viewing earlier from my phone, I wasn't able to discern the lines at all but seeing them now on my laptop, both the number and formation are wrong.

Luckily, they are a relatively easy, though not inexpensive, element of the piece to remedy.
