what this barrel for please

Hi guys,just found this gun barrel in a box with military things....
Seems to be a pistol barrel...but i know nothing about guns...
P and F stamp on it...
Can you help me with it...

What about the "Colt 45 Auto" written on it?

If I am not wrong I think this is a post war new gun barrel.

Barrel for WWII Colt. If F is in front of lug of lug, it is correct for 1911A1 Colts in the 1.09 to 1.12 million serial number range.

So I was wrong.

So I was wrong.

In late 1944/early 1945 the COLT .45 AUTO marking on the left side of the barrel above the lug was dropped, and a C in a square was added on the right side of the lug. The P proof remained on the left side of the lug.

The post WWII barrels still used the C/square marking, the P proof was dropped, and the COLT .45 AUTO was moved to the top of the barrel. The post WWII barrels were also finished in phosphate, where all the WWII barrels were finished in blue.

If the rifling is good it's still worth some money just by itself.
