p38+holster

    p38+holster

    i own a p38 holster and it has the markings of wunerlauelt wrong!). berlin and its dated 1942 now a friend of mine in england has a p38 and its cvq 2116 on it now from the other threads i gather that cvq is the spreeworks and the p38 has the little ealge+88 on it so what year is it from? any one know? also it has a strange mark on the back just under the sites its like a little flower or something and im told its a exseptance(??) marks from the chinas army! is this true? it has all the wehrmacht stamps on it so it is ww2 also it has p3 beside the breech block!
    so any help with the holster or p38 would be sweet and my mate would realy apprecate it!

    P38 Cvq

    Hello,

    On the cvq marked P38 there should be a letter prefix, it should be either a zero, "a" or "b". which is it?

    PS- the little star or "flower" marking on the P38 is usually located on the back of the frame indicates that this P38 is an import. Check under the barrel and look for an import marking. It will usually have the importers name, or might just say, "p38 Germany" or "made in Germany".

      ok this is very strange then im staying in england at his house so i have the gun on hand but theres no letter of any kind as far as i can see also theres no importer mark of any kind either BUT all the number of the other parts of the gun are the same so whats going on then? is this a forgery of some kind as it has the little 88+eagle markings on it! i am wondering!!!

        sorry forgot to add,has this gun been shipped over seas then? or is it a case that after the war it was used by another country from stocks thats were on hand?

          Are all the numbers matching? (frame, slide, locking block, barrel?)

          All P38s should have a either a letter prefix or a letter suffix. The only ones that don't are the "zero" series, which will have a number starting with "zero" and they go from 0001-013000.
          I have one of these! Serial number is 010400!

          I used to have a "cvq" a-prefix gun that was import marked, and sounded much like yours. I really can't explain anything else unless I can see the gun. Can you post pics? or send them directly to me?
