Fully automatice MP38. Unfortunately, the barrel assembly does not match the lower's serial number. But, what a sweet weapon. One big shot, then close-ups of what makes it a MP38.

These guns were fully machined. They were so heavy that the grooves were added to the receiver and the holes cut in the magazine housing to lighten the gun up. It also has the hook handle rather than the push/pull on later models and the MP40. There is provision for the push-pull in the receiver though.Last edited by Jack Melvin; 07-19-2002, 07:09 AM.

You are correct! The MP41 is on of the rarer models (the rarest being the MP40/II) in the MP38 series. It was basically an MP40 with a wooden stock, and as Gene stated it had selective fire as well! (semi or full auto!)
Most of the MP41 were issued to police units (comercially marked or police marked with an "eagle C" or "eagle F".
The one my friend has is extremely rare since it is WaA marked! This means that it was used my the Heer, SS, or Luftwaffe. If you remeber the famous photo from the battle of the bulge, it shows a King Tiger tank, number "222" travelling down a road. ON the tank are several Luftwaffe paratroopers. One of them is standing just to the right of the gun barrel. Slung around his neck is an MP41!!
This is one of the only known photos the show a Military unit (not Police) using the MP41 in combat! Could this one be the one my friend has? He likes to think so!
I'm just waiting for him to sell it to me!
Matt
