Welcome to the new forum! With this post I am opening up the virtual gates to this section of the site, so feel free to post pictures, questions, and information on the weapons of World War II. This forum will focus primarily on the arms of the Wehrmacht (As the title indicates), but it will also cover Allies and Axis Allied firearms.
The weapons of World War II, in particular Wehrmacht infantry weapons, were drenched in tradition when the war began. The Mauser 98K and the Luger were long standing weapons in the Armys’ arsenal, as synonymous with Germany as the Iron Cross. The inherent appeal an infantry assault rifle (or an officer’s sidearm) combined with their rich history entices many militaria collectors add these guns to their inventory. There is a definite crossover between gun collectors and militaria collectors; hence, this forum.
I will be watching over this space until a permanent moderator is assigned. I look forward to posts not only on Wehrmacht arms, but also on the weapons they fought against.
If you have any comments on this forum, please post them on this thread. Enjoy the new forum!
