I will send you some pictures, but at the moment I´ve got nearly no time and I do not want to publish pictures of origin ones here in the net for a good reason. A detail of the faked cocking handles is complete different to origin ones and you can see it on the first sight. I only observed two different makers and Mauser wasn´t one of them... The most repro ones were produced in Hungary by a German guy who lives there, but he sold all of these early cocking handles as repro parts not as origin ones and they had no marks and also no rust. Now there are only origin ones available
o.k. thats very nice!from the early charging handle i `ve seen only a few original exemplares.question - sells this german guy only mg42 copy parts and spare parts for the mercedes 190 sl on ebay?
P.S. I have send you an email
What sort of price range ($ USD) would you expect to see an original early-style MG-42 cocking handle sell for? I may be able to work a 3-way trade to get an original, but would have $500 in it, so I'm trying to get an idea of values for purposes of the possible trade.
I would very much appreciate your input on the availability and prices of original MG-42 early-style cocking handles.

Hello Alan,
last year I bought one for my collection and it cost me 1000 EUR = ~1300 USD. The guy who sold me this early style cocking handle sold such items for 800 - 1000 EUR depeding on condition. It´s a lot of money but I have never seen an origin early cocking handle for sell on the web. Before I spend 200 - 600 EUR for a faked one, I buy an origin one for 1000 EUR...
