      The numbers are both 90. "Spezialmunition" could mean Anschuß or B-Patronen, both are special. But as far as I know there were issued Anschußpatronen when they went to the front with the gun they were trained with at the sniper school.

        I just checked my database and I have loose sS rounds from as late as 1944 (casings stamped dou *S 2 44)

          Hi, I found a lot of these ammunition, marked dou 1944, in brass cases. Normally, I saw 44 marked ammunition in steel cases.

          Are these special ammo? Could it be special ammunition for the sniper?

            Wonderful find Willi! Heck, simply finding a box with stripper clips is cool IMO, let alone sniper ammunition!
