    Japanese Nambu Pistols: Comments Appreciated

    Hey Guys,

I'm going to sell these and wanted to be sure there aren't any issues. The ammo is already sold.....

I have not taken the pistols apart (namely because I would never be able to get them back together again), but all numbers that I can see match (mag, trigger, serial). Both are 19 dated. One pistol still has grease all over it, and I don't believe was ever used. Hopefully these pics are good enough for comments......

I also have a Type 99 Sniper Rifle I'll be selling.

NOTE: I posted these on the Japanese Forum, but didn't get much of a response.

    Thanks.

They are nice T14's. Do they have 2 matching mags each? Nice holsters too.

                Thank you!

They only have one matching mag each.

The "greasy one" has an extra firing pin in the holster.

Both are later T14 with bigger triger guards. Leather holster would be for earlier one with small triger guard. Rubber holster is correct for the the Type14 that you have. As a complete sets with holsters IMHO they should be $1000 a piece. They look that they are in great condition.

I'll try to give you my opinion in stages, how a collector would evaluate them.

+Both look nice from the pics.
-19 dated guns are the most common.
+Matching mags makes them desirable. If there is a dot close to the number it was the extra mag.
-If there is "safety rash" I can't tell on the used gun, it's a big minus on a common gun. The safety is often pushed down and grooves the left grip.
+leather holsters without damage or dry rot are worth $150-300 depending on type. You will normally get more by seperating the holsters and guns.
-rubberized canvas holsters aren't worth much and add virtually nothing to the gun without other extras. Seperate maybe $75-100 assuming it isn't dry rot.
+need pics from all angles showing front and back straps, top and bottom view showing wear or lack of. Also need to verify what matches and what does not. Firing pins on these things are known to be easily broken. Extractors break as well. Bore condition means a lot. Many of these came home with GI cosmoline there is still a good chance some pitting is present. Under the grips is a good place to look.

If the better gun is completely matching and has no blue loss and an excellant bore it would bring $600-800 add another 100 for the holster and another $50-100 for the striker, assuming it's original. Many of these sets have aftermarket strikers.

The used gun is probably in the $500-700 with the rubber duckie holster
