      Laufschuetzer 43/1

      Hi,
"43/1" means you need to invest in Folke Myrvang's "German Universal Machine Guns Vol 1" where you'll find illustrations of all the variations of Lauschuetzer for the MG34 and MG42.
As a rule the webbing sling is usually in a loop with a buckle for adjustment at one end and doubled back over the ring on the barrel case at the other end and the double thickness of material secured by a metal tag, most often with the "LUX" maker's mark.
The book is a must if you're keen on MG34s and '42s (I am not Folke's agent, by the way!).
      Good hunting,
      Grossfuss

              Hello,

I believe they were from 2 to 4 barrels per MG (at least Portuguese contract had 4 spare per MG) but it depended on the kind of team: light MG, heavy MG, tanker, bunker.

Sorry, I was talking about MG34 but i imagine it would be the same for MG42.
