Looks like it has the original barrel......The receiver serial number is in the 2.43 million range.....Scott Duff's site has Springfield Armory serial numbers only going to 2,420,191 in December of 1943.....Than starting in the 2.5 million range in January of 1944.....But I would say yours is okay.....BodesComment

Stock proofs are correct.....Does it have a "P" in a circle on the grip?.....

The SA/GAW acceptance stamp is a toss up as the picture is a little blurry. Would help to see the proof mark.Comment

sorry guys - got to late last night and I thought I had more pictures of the stamps - here they are - plus a stamp on the butt of the grip - does this mean a outside contractor made the stock for SA and this is an acceptence stamp for the stock?Comment
