Hello, the family has held onto this pistol that belonged to their late father. He was a pilot in the CBI and flew 20+ combat missions from about mid 1944 thru the end of the war. With these pics are you able to confirm its usage in the Pacific Theater based on serial #s and markings?. Best, Bill Bourque

Nice grouping and pistol. Have you checked the serial number behind the firing pin stop plate? Need to find an original magazine as that one dates to the Vietnam era.
The pistol was shipped from Colt in the April/May 1943 time period, and was shipped to Springfield Armory. SA kept no records of disbursement from there. Unless the serial number shows up in Springfield Research Service there is no way of authenticating where it went. SRS is a privately owned research service, and has nothing to do with the old Springfield Armory.

Hi, Allan. He flew many bridge destroying missions and one of them was on the briges at Kanchanaburi known and Bridges over the River Kwai. Somehow post war he aquired these thru the CBI Vet.s org and there is no dating on the paperwork. There is still a mission Hosp on that river in Kanchanaburi. Best, BillAttached Files
