Help with identification of a pistol

I picked up this pistol today from a friend. I am trying to help him find out who made it and what was used for. I am thinking European early target pistol or a duel pistol. It has what you would call in today's terms micro groove barrel. Like you would find on nice .22 rifles. It is bigger then .22. Only marking were under a barrel and on the side that I can find. All numbers match on it. As you can see lot of work went into this one. Even the screws are engraved. So any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    regards Rajko

            I think it's what's called a "parlour gun."
(Google that and see what you think?)
It used an oversized percussion cap, larger than a .22 to launch a light wight projectile at usually an indoor target.

            Pit.

This pistol appears to be Belgian of the Flobert type and may be chambered in 22 cal. Please tell your friend that even if it will chamber a 22 cal round NOT TO FIRE IT under any circumstances. These actions are notoriously weak in design and coupled with the age of this pistol could result in a major failure.

He is not going to shoot it we already talked about it. It has a very sensitive trigger, some new guns are not even set up like that. That is why I thought it was a target pistol. So what was used for? And why the part that has a firing pin in it can be removed? Thank you guys.
