today was a BIG surprise !!!!!
i came in contact with a former Belgian resistance-member and he told me he wanted to give me something for my colection...
to my surprise he handed me this "relic" ersatz holster with a 1940 Walther pp inside it
the marking is a crown/N ,so according to my books it has to be commercial 1940-made .
he told me that a very young German officer surrendered himself to his group in september 1944 in de town of Nevele (Flanders) and gave him his sidearm .
he always kept it but it ended up in the attick ,over the years the condition of the gun and holster became a bit salty...
the man is 93 years old and he wanted it to be safe and protected ,so he gave it to me !!
to my surprise he also handed me a Browning HP with shoulderstock ,it is in bad condition but i try to clean and oil it a bit . it is Belgian marked .
it was just laying there on the floor of the attick ,colecting dust and rust
it was his service-gun from the resistance but he added the stock after the war ,it has another serial number to .
i am very happy with both of them because they served in my own region ,and on both sides of the armed groups !!
the sad thing is i will have to demil them according to the Belgian law...
greetings Jo.
