MG 42 lauf

Hi, a friend of mine has found MG 42 barrel, stuck into MG 81 barrel housint (Mantel n.A.). And I mean STUCK I have tried to beat it out but it did not even move. Any ideas how to remove it? I dont understand why someone put it inside. It was found in ground so that may happened a very long time ago. Both parts are in very good condition.
The barrel is marked cnx 1, n, and something like 8PB or what, I cant read it clearly.

What about trying to heat it up with a torch?

Overnight in the freezer and then heat up the 81 - only .

A trick to get barrels into trunions is to cool the barrel with "dry ice". This may be worth a try for your situation. Secure the outer barrel in a vise, place dry ice inside the inner barrel, heat the outer barrel and try turning and pulling the inner barrel out. Let me know if this helps.
