    K98 bnz 43 SS contract, original?

    Hi gents,

    could be a good example of SS contract, this K98?

        I'm no expert but to me it looks like a different strike on the rune. ???

          As I understand it there should be an additional marking on the underside of the barrel which will confrm it. I am not sure what that mark should be but perhaps the experts on this forum can confirm it.

              The WaA stamp in front of the bnz marking tells me that this is maybe not an original. (this is what i have heard) .
              WaA stamps on the right side of the reciever is also not a good sign.
              The serial number never reached 10000 and they had no suffix letter (sadly i cannot see the serial number on the pics)

              On your 98k are also a lot of postwar stamps

                I agree. This is what I understand of ss contract rifles as well. The original ones have no waffenamts and should have no letter suffix on the serial.

                      This 98K has also a very unique sling attached, besides of all the rust markings it has a stone mint bore

                            That last part is not true. Its only the acceptance of the receiver like in this case..
