          As a matter of interest, do you have the cast number suffix in the butt ?

            Hi Richard,
            Yes an original buttplate should have the part number cast into the metal. B257614 and it will have the mold position cast into it.

            Here is a partial pic of a buttplate, I have at the moment. Notice how it is casted into it. You will see some repos stamped..( avoid)

              Looks good.

              I've always wondered what the 2 digit number was after the sunburst and wondered if there was a correlation with a production date. I have had 2 genuine stocks, without the rifle and both have the cast B257614 with number 12.
