    k43 magazine

I recently found a nice 45 dated k43 in a local estate but I need an appropriate magazine for it . Can anyone recommend a trustworthy dealer who would have some? Thanks!

Bill Shea has one for sale right now. A bit on the high side, but as trustworthy as you can get. There is a fellow named Claus Espeholt that collects data on these guns. If you will do a search for G43 on the web, his site will come up. You might contact him and give him the info. He's documenting the variations found in production.

I know Charlie has two K43 mags right now, and also has K43 mag pouches as well. Here is the web address: www.checkpointcharlies.com.
Not sure what Bill Shea is asking for his K43 mags, but I'm willing to bet the farm that Charlies' are cheaper!

Matt, you always take the safe bets! But, you'd lose this one!

          Ruptured Duck:

          F-285 K-43 Cartridge Magazine (Clip)
This is a very nice example of a clip for the Karabiner 43, which was a slightly shortened version of the “Gewehr 43” (or but may be repainted). This magazine held ten 7.92mm rounds. The magazine is painted black, though some of the paint is worn off around the bottom. The feed tray is oiled, but somewhat stuck in position (it does not depress freely). The base of the clip is marked K-43 gcb ( “gcb” = the Ordnance code for the maker “Grohmann & Sohn ad. Metallwarenfabrik”). A nice looking clip, however, and not commonly encountered. Desirable!

There is a repo being made now and sold as a repo by several dealers (Sarco, Gunparts, etc.) but some people are trying to pass them off as real. Easy way to tell they are marked G43/K43. NO real mag was markewd like that. They were either marked one way or the other.

                Nutmeg,
Ebay has them all the time, if you see one you like you can email me and I'll look at it for you and let you if its an original. I also have a selection of them for you to compare to if you want pictures.

                Regards,

                    Jack,

WOW! I can't believe that Bills' mags are cheaper than Charlies'!
There are only two possiblities for that; either Bill's mag is a repro, or Charlies' mags are much better condition!

                    Take your pick!
Going by the description, I would say Charlies' are in better condition.

                        Jack,
A dual lug is a nice find, it would be great to see some pictures. My Dual lug is a "C" suffix would it be rude to ask you the suffix of yours?
