    Sending deactivated weapons to UK

    Hi guys,

I have a big question, is it possible to send deactivated MG under german specifications to UK?
I am affraid little bit of UK customs so would appreciated any strait comments who have experience with this.

    Following changes are done:

    - Barrel drilled six times, barrel welded at bullet chamber, steel pin set into barrel
    - Barrel fixed to frame - no change of barrel possible
    - Bolt cut 45 degrees, firing pin channel closed
    - Belt transport mechanism in topcover fixed
    - Drum mag holder has welding point
    - Grip bolts welded, grip cannot be removed from frame
    - Lock for backport welded

You can cook and dry fire MG + insert belt.

    thx for comments

as far as i am aware the UK does not recognise deactivated weapons from other countries in the E.U or other countries, it would be a big risk to send to the uk as you would run the risk of it being x-rayed and examined by customs, then siezed and at worst destroyed. the buyer could also face being fined/prosecuted for importing a prohibited item. - the only way i could see it being sent here is if it was sent to a registered firearms dealer with an import licence for guns, then who would arrange for it to be deactivated to uk regulations and inspected by the proof house so the correct UK deactivation certificate can be issued before sending it to the original buyer.

          Deac

Phil3337 is absolutely correct. I have 'used' the process several times, and actually the Customs process and procedure is very straight forward. Whatever the condition, even relic, or level of deactivation the piece is considered live. Although something that is completely rusted and unusable, although could be used as a bat! would never work as a firearm, from the British Customs/Police point of view the import procedure is black and white.

If you need help please ask.

The only acceptable deact cert in the UK is one issued by the UK
