    100 round MG ammo belt

Just a short question about 100 round belt for MG - is it a common item?

I do mean one factory made 100 round belt - not two 50 round belts put together. And I do mean original german pre 1945 item.

There are no informations about it in the book of Folke Myrvang, unfortunately.

    Thanks
    Marcin

I had one many years ago. They are real but rare it seems.

To be honest, I don't think there are factory made 100 rd belts....

250 rd's exist, but have a starter tab attached (fixed)...

I have to look up the H.M., but at some point, the starter tabs were modified with added links, so materials were provided to the waffenmeisters to fix it.
These materials very well could be used to make a 100 rd belt but as far as I know this was not factory made....

              Just my .02 cents

                100 rd ammo belts

Sir are you speaking of 100 rd metal belts or the standard 100 rd MG08/15 ammo belt for the trommel?
if it is the drum belt you need info on let me know?

I can't comment on the MG belts used in the WW1 & 2, but the M60 used extensively in the Vietnam war routinely used 100 round battle packs. Of course they could link any number of rounds together in a defensive position, but on patrols the 100 round packs were frequently used.

                    Gentlemen,
I have recently come into possession of two what appeared to be factory made MG 34/42 100 round machine gun belts. one is the standard 50 round type with square connecting ends and it is unmarked. The second is an unusual belt it has what appears to be a permanently attach starter tab that is different than all the others I have Have seen. It does not have the square pieces that attached to the links It also does not have any of the square dimples and is made of heavier material. It is likewise not marked and is a flat piece of steel With the curved end for feeding.
I can take pictures of it but I cannot post on this forum. If someone would like me to email them the pictures for posting I would do so. Anyone has any opinions I would appreciate that was also.
                    Thanks 2nd Amend law
