It's not your pistol and I really don't owe you anything, but I am going to try and explain it to you. The pistol was brought to another forum actually asking about a box of ammo shown with the pistol, and the discussion centered more on the pistol and the stamping in the holster than the ammo. The Imperial markings were never shown, but after being ask the owner confirmed that it had Imperial markings.

Is there anything else you feel I owe you?

No, I was just curious how that played in to the topic here and since the conversation was not here and there is no mention of the point in this thread I was curious as to what you were implying. Like your attitude though and typical of a Luger board guy.

Thank you for your kind reply.

I did not find the word "curious" in your original post, but I did find this:

"Please spell that out for me because this is not another forum, so tell me what that means in your mind??. "

I submit that I was nice enough to answer your question whether I owed you an answer or not, regardless of which forum this is.

With your knowledge of the Luger board, you have probably already read the thread on the Mauser and holster anyway, making any more questions unnecessary.

There is no use getting defensive. He was only asking what was said, which I think evevyone would like to know. Not everone is privy to the "other forum". Isn't the forum supposed to be place of sharing and learning, not deception and hiding! If JR didn't want the info shared, he wouldn't have posted asking for help. Ron

            Johnny,

You plopped a comment in the middle of the thread regarding Imperial markings on the weapon, there is no other reference to it in this thread or mentioned otherwise. What was the purpose or intention of the comment?. You certainly did not elaborate on it. You took a dump in the middle of the thread.

I am familiar with all the boards and scan the gun boards, Luger boards, PPK forums, etc. But not all that regularly like I do other things, I had to keyword into the thread to find it on the Luger board and then read it.

No one had the benefit of knowing about that topic and no one would know what your comment means. You don't like the rig? say so, but watching the Luger boards when I do, it is not difficult to see that attitudes displayed by the water walkers with their curt, cut your legs off answers. Unless of course your a member of the good ole boys club and then everything is just ducky and you may actually get an answer, clearly your one of them.

You don't owe me nothing, but I can recognize what you did, I was just curious why.

            Best,

            Kris

I'm still hoping that someone will be able to address the substance of the inked "SS" markings on the holster. The markings in question appear somewhat similar to the NSDAP property markings found in a ratty (but 100% original) PP or PPK holster that I acquired several years ago. Thanks to some very helpful individuals on this Forum, we were able to identify the markings on my holster as being property markings for a particular NSDAP district.

Perhaps the "SS" markings are also property markings?

Here is one of the better shots I was able to take of the NSDAP markings. Taking photos of 70 year old inked markings on leather is not easy.

As I mentioned, the NSDAP inked marked holster is in terrible condition, but it is 100% original.

If you have a problem with the Luger board, that is certainly something I had nothing to do with as I just recently rejoined after several years absence. Obsessing on my post to this thread to show your distain for the members on that board is certainly something you should let go.

Luger guys are fine, but a couple that like to slice and dice new collectors or outsiders. Sent you a p.m and no need to argue the point.

It is Marked "SS-Oscha. Mancke" ( a NCO rank). It appears to me that the Mancke (at least) was hand written instead of an ink stamp like on the NSDAP Holsters. The characters in the last name Mancke = the a has a up turn on the down stroke, the k and the e are not uniform as they would be in a rubber stamp.

                        Nice find!
