I might be wrong, but doesn't this mousqueton need a magazine to function? I vaguely recall they use the Mannlicher system, in which the clip is fully inserted, is necessary for it to be used as a repeating rifle, and is ejected when the last round is fired. Otherwise, it looks quite nice and complete.

I believe a very early issue of Militaria Magazine covered this model and its variations over the years. As for its value, I can't comment, as I'm not that familiar with demilitarized French prices. I believe there is a company in France, NORALCO, which sells a lot of demilitarized military arms, and their prices might serve as a rough guide.

Hi Trackman this mousqueton is complete and all is in order, nothing missing on this one...no magazine for it,you just need a 3 rounds clip to insert in and when the ammunitions are fired the clip is empty and fall down on the floor.....that just the way it is for this 3 rounds non modified mousqueton....

                        Salut Martin,

There are many in the US, but I dont think pricing translates well...

Looks like a slightly rough piece. In the US, functional examples go for $150-300 probably.

                          Salut Scotty, i know that....
In US laws are not the same as here in France....it is the reason why deactivated guns ,rifles etc are more expensive here because of the laws...
Something like this one will turn around euros 300/350...

Thanks - yes, of course, you are right when I look again at the magazine floorplate. I think that makes it a bit rarer, because it is my understanding that most of these M1892 Berthier carbines were converted to five-shot models starting in 1916, due to the many complaints by troops about its limited magazine capacity.

I don't know if that affects the price at all.
