ID firearm?

This is a unknown part of the WAF for me. A young budding collector (13 years) here locally has ask me to help him identify this deact rifle he bought. I have no idea, but I know someone here will be able to provide the info. Many thanx. Jacques

Not my speciality but I believe it's a Lee Enfield Mk I made by Birmingham Small Arms. Apparently the magazine is missing.
I'm sure someone will be along that can provide more information.

That appears to be the Long Lee Enfield (vs the Short, Magazine Lee Enfield) that has been sporterized.

I just double checked and the SMLE wasn't introduced until 1907 so this is a Long example as stated above..
