    SS PPK with Shoulder Holster

    SS ( issue serial number range) PPK with Shoulder Holster...Well made holster and I know Germans used them, but is this a wartime or US GI made? Ed

        Ed, the RSHA did issue shoulder holsters for their PPKs and PPs, but it was the Akah Reichsbank model as shown here in catalog along with a example without straps containing an RSHA PPK

        I don't know if your holster is German, pre-1945 or not, or whether an RSHA officer opted to private purchase. But we do know that the above model was their standard issue.

          The one thing that your holster has going in it's favor is the obvious quality of the construction. Many of the German made "souvenir" holsters I've seen that were made post war for GIs look like they were a "Leather 101" project.
          Speculation but perhaps your holster was a private purchase and that could account for the fact that it's unmarked.

            The holster looks like it was cut for a snubby revolver - like a Colt detective special, the trigger guard area is too large for a small automatic pistol holster. The magazine pouch is attached in the most inaccessible place to practically use on a shoulder holster. Very unusual.
