    Czech Luger?

I might have an oportunity to buy a #'s matching WWII Luger and holster. The private seller claims his father was a US GI and had brought back the Luger and holster. I have not seen the items yet but wanted to ask a question on this forum before I see the gun and make an offer to buy it.

The seller claims that it is a WWII Czech made Luger. My question is were Lugers ever made in Czechoslovakia during WWII and if so is there any markings that would identify them as being made in Czechoslovakia?

Also, if there is such a thing as a WWII Czech made Luger, how does it compare in quality and value to a WWII German made Luger?

    thanks.

Not a Luger but tghe P.38s were produced by the Czech Republic Spreewerk factory starting in June of 42 until may of 45. They were produced by forced labor under Nazi control. They are marked with the code CYQ and the army acceptance E/swastika and E/88 Frame, slide, barrel and locking block should match with the same serial number. Many times the P.38 is mistakenly represented as a "Luger"

Check out this site for more detailed info.

          A P38 is not a Luger.

              Good point on correct ID

I do not know how many "Lugers" I have chased over the country side in 50 years.

I have arrived to find everything from a Luger or P38 to a .25 Star pocket auto.

Friend even brought out his father's Luger-a nice AC 41 in a luger holster.

Bought a Nambu a while back at a sale listed as Japanese Luger.
