SD/RSHA PP PPK serial numbers

Are the SD/RSHA PP and PPK's Serial numbered on the slides before or after being blued. On the magazines I have read that the mags themselves were serialed before they were blued. Is it also true with the slides....Thanks Jimmy

The earlier series slides with serial numbers on the slide under the muzzle were numbered after originally being issued from the factory blued and without that numbering.

The same thing occurred to those first guns issued with unmarked blued magazines. The slides were also numbered by a Waffenwerkstatt before Walther began issuing factory numbered blued magazines.
