      Revolver

One of the more accurate descriptions from references

Hood Firearms Company, Norwich, Connecticut 1873 to 1883. " The Marquis of Lorne was a 32 caliber (rimfire) sheathed trigger solid frame non-ejecting revolver made in the late 1870. Also listed uder Suicide Specials ". To save time and expense the barrel is smooth bored, but to deceive buyers the first 1/2 inch of the barrel had five groves in the bore.
