K98 s/42 1938

Is it possible that a K98 code S/42 1938 has a laminated stock? I have the chance to buy an all matching numbered S/42 1938 with a laminated stock. But the most books describe them with a solid stock. Can anyone help me with this question? I'll post the pictures of the rifle later.

They were certainly being used at the time. I have an original 1938 S/27 with the laminated stock and flat butt. If the markings and configuration are correct I don't see any problem. Pictures will help.

Here some pics. The weapon is IMO reblued and the stock seems to be refinished.

Definitely agree that metal is refinished, and stock probably also. Are the stock and handguard numbered to the rifle? Are there any markings below the take down disc, and on the bottom of the stock between the pistol grip and butt plate?
