StG 44 found!

Hi everybody,

my friend has dug out this fragment of StG 44. On the attached photo it is as it was found. After then it was cleared so parts of originalsurface finishing appeared. Currently it is in electrolytic process to erase the corrosion.
Does someone have any photos of details of this gun? Possibly also in disassembled status? We would appreciate them much!

zamax great picture! what a piece of history...one word of caution...digging can get you killed by UXO's..un exploded ordnance. A few years ago a young boy in florida threw a canon ball from one of our wars into a fire and blew off his arm...anytime i hear about people digging it just scares me! good luck!

I hope it will be possible.
Btw. it was found by my virtual friend with metal detector in woods of middle Czech Republic. But he does not speak English so he asked me to find out something about it. I personally have not seen him nor his 44. But we are in touch.
