[QUOTE]Plus we could never know if this was done professionally because you cannot shoot it.

And you cannot say this gun was NOT done professionally. Anyone who wants to modifie his gun for any reason can do this if he wishes to do so. Mick

Mick, since we weren't there, I guess we cannot comment on how or when it was done. But you are not speaking about private property (back then) but rather government issue (Heer). So if you want to believe that some German NCO managed to get ahold of a second issue handgun and personally popped the pins and exchanged barrels, springs and slides, or went to a buddy in the local Waffeninstandsetzung and asked him to do the deed, destroying army issue property, then fine.

Can you show us what kind of a job was done with the PPK barrel and PP frame. Can you remove the slide and provide us some pics of the barrel frame union? Also, is the slide and barrel marked the same with an Eagle/N proof or Crown/N?

The owner was the German army.

        As to what you said:

"I believe this gun was modified during World War Two by a german soldier or the like."

          Hi

Most likely the barrel was hack sawed to shorten it like some did themselves to weapons over 100 yrs ago. Yes show us the disassembled pistol.

Hello, Yes this gun has the Eagle/N proof mark on the slide and barrel and receiver all matching. Also this is NOT destroying army issue property.
            Thanks. Mick

P.S. I never said his rank as i don't know it. "So if you want to believe that some German NCO"...................?
