              Bill,

              Would you mind showing a photo of the "4UT" proof on your pistol; I am curious as to whether or not it is the same as the one shows here from a late war Beretta MP38/44.

              My understanding is that the "4UT" proofs denote Beretta firearms made under German supervison for the German military in the late war period.

                  Hi Alan Smith, even if built in 1944 this is not a MAB 38/44: you can see the end of the breechblock that stick out of the cap of the receiver that 38/44 did not had.

                    To the best of my knowledge Beretta service pistols were not parkerized by the Italians. I suspect this was done well after the war ended.

                        The latewar Berettas M1935 were all parkerized, I´ve got also 3 of them in my collection.

                            I didn't see it anywhere. I mistook yours for a 1934 Model which I believe we not parkerized..

                              You are correct the 1934 Beretta's in 9mm Corto were not parkerized...BILL
