Would you mind showing a photo of the "4UT" proof on your pistol; I am curious as to whether or not it is the same as the one shows here from a late war Beretta MP38/44.
My understanding is that the "4UT" proofs denote Beretta firearms made under German supervison for the German military in the late war period.Comment

Hi Alan Smith, even if built in 1944 this is not a MAB 38/44: you can see the end of the breechblock that stick out of the cap of the receiver that 38/44 did not had.Comment

To the best of my knowledge Beretta service pistols were not parkerized by the Italians. I suspect this was done well after the war ended.
