German Mauser KK cal. .22 long rifle

    Hi,

I have received this German KK rifle, in caliber .22 lr.

I don't know what it actually is ?

Is it a WWII training rifle, transformed for hunting ?

The only visible markings are : PATRONE .22 LONG RIFLE
And the MAUSER emblem on the butt-plate.

The rear sight seems original, the front sight
however looks as if someone has modified it for civil use.

Unfortunately, there came no bolt with it.

I'd appreciate any comments helping identifying what I got there !

Thank you very much in advance for your information !

Commercial Mauser and lot of them out there that looks similar, maybe along the lines of an Es-350

Their actually really nice although this one has seen better days. A subject within themselves really and a couple books out there on them and their various models.

Great rifles but condition matters. ;o)

                Best,

                Kris

Appears to be a Model ES-340 from the mid-1920's. One of the most popular rifles from Mauser-Werke. Can't quite make out the serial, but if its in the low 20,000 range, it would be closer to the start of the 340 series (1924 & >). Nice, but not really for a WWII collection.
