    Holster for Review, PPK?

I got this holster a while back and just wanted to get some opinions on it. I'm confident that its legit but its always nice to get confirmation. I remember seeing one just like it here on the forum but I was unable to relocate the thread it was in. It is marked on the inside flap with an rbnr and WaA.

    Define "legit".

IMHO it misses several features of genuine pre-war or war-time PPK holster. Also the lower flap seems to have been cut to a completely wrong form and the leather overall looks way too soft.

I would pass, but I'm no expert on these.

As Aktivisti points out, the holster has some problems. As to it being for a PPK, unless it is specifically marked as such as some PPK holsters are, yours is a generic holster meant for any pistol of a certain size. Whether a PPK fits in yours, only you can know. Besides the odd cut and fit of the trigger flap, note the crude cut and finish of the latching strap. The thumb end is unevenly cut and seems to have been replaced. I can't make out the RBNr and WaA in your photos.

The rbnr appears to be: 3/212/2002 ??

Its really hard to see though. the WaA was struck unevenly I think and I can't make out the numbers under the eagle.

The holster might have issues as you see the holster in photos but, in person it lacks the key features of fakes that I look out for; strong leather smell, deep and very prominent markings, synthetic threads, artificial color. This seems like a very odd holster to make as a reproduction, also since I barely paid anything for it I doubt its a repro.

As received the holster was lighter in color but, it was dry and I added a coat of leather dressing to it and the color darkened a bit. The age and the discoloration on the leather is what I would expect to see on old leather.

If you're happy with it, there is no problem. Not being pre-1945 does not mean it is a repro. A lot of holsters have been made in the last 67 years .

Does a PPK fit in the holster? Let's see how it looks with the gun inside. You have to admit that the latching is very poorly made compared with the rest of the holster.

I looked again at the rbn and it looks to be 0/1272/0002

Does that ring any bells for anyone?

Looks like a PP would fit better.
