      That's the way I remember them(substandard) as I stated above but It's been years since I've handled one . Also keep in mind the German pre-war quality was not surpassed anywhere else in the world at that time. I for one still marvel at just how good it was and at prices that were downright affordable for almost anyone.
      It's not just in arms but pretty much across the board. I am a car buff as well as a militaria and fiearms buff. I am still in awe at the Mercedes 500 and 540K quality every time I see one.

        I just saw a Walther .22 short at a gun shop in Pa yesterday. I had never paid attention to these before. Will have to grab one when I see the right one.
