    500th post - K43 mit ZF4

    My Dear Forum Friends,

    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

I´ve been around for about three years and this is my 500th post. The Firearms forum is the one which I have the closest affection and frequent participation and I learned a lot here, as well tried to help a little. As it has been a marvelous experience to meet so many friends here I decided to make this 500th post something special...

    <o></o>

So I chose the pride and joy of my little collection: my K43 with ZF4scope!! I bought this gun in 1999 for something like US$ 1,500.00 (including the scope) but I have to wait up this this year to get some good pictures of it. Shame on me!

    <o></o>

Well, it is a very late AC45 block “d” with the toughest finish I ever saw, very thin blue on top and phosphate on the trigger guard. Every single piece is matching. The stock is unmarked but not sanded or cut. The scope (mismatched) is marked “dow” and the mounting has Waffenamt, which I can´t read. Everything is original and the group is one of the few that are down here.

    <o></o>

I will let the pictures talk by me and hope you enjoy this one!

    <o></o>

    All the best,

    <o></o>

    Douglas.

                  final shot

This is the last and (in my opinion) best shot!

                  Hope you have enjoyed!

                  All the best,

                  Douglas.

Very, very nice rifle! I didn't know that the buttplate on a K43 has an opening for a cleaning kit. Does the stock have any proof marks on it?

Well, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the scope mount is a reproduction....The 214(BLM)waffenamt style is indicative of a post war copy...Sorry...
