At the time the pistol was built Colt had a long list of available options, and the lanyard loop was one of them. The lanyard loop was also popular with police pistols of that era.

For $75.00 a letter could be obtained from Colt giving all the information on how the pistol was shipped, when it was shipped, and to where it was shipped.

          Restoration

I succeeded in dismantling. Some of the parts needed to replace.

Since the original grips didn't survive, I would consider leaving it like it is. Any grip you put on it will look out of place, and it isn't a candidate to be shot.

I saw one of the 1860 Army Colts that came off the recovered Union ironclad Cairo, and someone had made new grips and replace some of the screws. They had ruined all the history of the pistol. The really bad thing was the pistol had remnants of the original one piece wood grips when recovered.

I have a fondness for relic condition firearms and in my opinion they are best left in as found condition.

                    Thank you your advice!
I found grips on ebay. Is it good for this revolver? What is your opinion?

Again only my opinion, but the grips are going to look out of place on the pistol, and won't fit very well with the metal lost to rust.

On the other hand, if you just have to have grips on it, the repros would be the way to go.
