Reverse is marked and dated, "CXB 4" and also "P38". However, it is not WaA mnarked at all, which is common on these late war holsters.

Here is another quite rare P38 holster. Rare because of its' maker though rather than color.

This is an FKX 4 P38 holster!

Reverse is nicely marked, "FKX 4" and has a lovely "eagle/WaA869". I can't ever remember seeing anohter "FKX 4", much less one this nice.

Here is the really cool part about this holster. Many leather manufactures that supplied leather to the holster manufacturers had certain markings on thier leather, such as numbers, letters, and sometimes even company logos.

Well on the inside of this "fkx 4" is an instamp of the leather makers company logo. It appears to be an ealge flying though some kind of ring.
          Pretty cool huh?

One more rare holster. This one is not a P38 holster, but rather a brown softshell holster for a Walther PP.

Now I know what you are saying, Matt, there is nothing rare about a softshell holster for a Walther PP. However, this holster is dated 1943 inside. I know that's not rare either!

However, how aobut if this holster was Police marked, "eagle/B"?
Now that is a scarce find! It is in minty condition too!

Bill is correct. The "eagle/B" marking is for police issue. There are two types of "eagle/B" markings found. The first type (shown above), is a well rounded eagle. (kind of looks more like a turkey to me! )

The second type is a straight stick winged eagle (shown below).
The stick winged ealge starts appearing on holster in 1943. The holster shown above is dated 1943 inside, so it is really odd that it still has the rounded "eagle/B" on it rather than the stick winged ealge.

                      Matt

FYI- the holster shown below is for a Mauser 1934 Police pistol. Hoster is made by "Primosa".

PS- Yes, the "fkx4" is sweet! Charlie got that one for me! He said he didn't even post it up on his website, because he knew I would take it immediately! He was not mistaken!
