    Deactivated mg34 pricing question

Mainly for our UK members,I am now after an MG34, what is a good price to pay for a nice early dated, deactivated mg34, iv seen one its a dfb 1941, not fully matching numbers, condition is excellent with a bakelite butt, its advertised at £1395, cosidering its more than what my MG42 cost, is this the current market value of MG34 now?

    Hi Phil,
it all depends on the maker as well! I have a 936 coded, dated 1940 one that is the rarest maker of MG34 you can find, and I only paid £850 for it last year! But the prices have really gone up, so I would say for a 'dot' maker, you will be looking at around £1100-£1200, and upwards from there for the rarer ones! The dfb 1941 is quite rare as well I believe so that may be the reason why it is priced at that price. Hope this helps, Patrick.
