    P38 grip question.....

    Hello gents,

Today my P38 byf43 - number 2208 with holster arrived. Later on I will make some pictures and post them on this forum but I do have a question about the grips. The inside of the black grooved grips are not marked.
My question is are all the original P38 grips marked or stamped?? Or are some original grips unmarked??

    Thank you

    Regards

It is possible they are late war Mauser grips as these were unmarked on the inside. Post pictures, that will help identify them. If they are late war grips they will be black in color, but they do have identifying features on the inside.

The Polyamid-6-grips on page 31 and 32 of the article are the grips I was referring too. You see these show up on late war Mauser's. Going by your serial number and the fact it is a by43, the pistol, in my opinion, would be too early to have came from the factory with these grips so they may have been switched out at one time or another. It is very common to find P38's with grips that have been switched out.

          Regards,
          Dan
