    Dreibein 34 - AA Tripod

I'm on the verge of buying this AA tripod, but thought I'd post a few pictures before for I do and get some additional opinions. I've have a few opinions via emails, which have come out quite favourably, but the more the merrier I guess. These things aren't cheap so I'm just trying to be doubly sure.
It is one of the alloy 'Elektron' varieties, the only negatives I can see are the post war paint and lack of strap.

Opinions please on if it looks ok and what is a fair price?

    Thanks in advance.

The part where you secure the MG
looks 100 % original to me (exept for the paint ofcourse).

About the tripod itself I can not judge.
But it does look good too.

Almost impossible to find one with original paint and/or strap A nice paintwork will do for the first, the strap would have to be reproduced but it is difficult to find the proper runner buckle.

I have one of these tripods but I have never seen an original strap or seen one for sale, does any forum member have one or have they ever seen an original strap or one that was for sale? Seems to be quite a rare item. Best regards David.

                        Top piece.

Hi,from the pictures it looks like a nice one,if there were any probs I'm sure Carles would have noticed. Here's a picture of the top main part of the tripod, three nice stamps, lots of WaA stamps on other parts as well. I believe my tripod came out of Norway brought over by the chap who wrote the mg book. I stripped off the green paint and resprayed it with the grey coloured paint. The part with the number on where the gun mounts does that signify an early production part? Regards David.

                          David,
I have not seen that many made by this manufacturer. Mostly you see S623 in a triangle on the early ones and CNX  on the later ones.
The bracket should have markings on it somewhere.
I have paid from 1000 to 2500 for he 3 I have. The straps are rarer then the tripods.
You may luck out and there may be some original paint left over.
                          Nice dreibein 34

Here also are some close-ups of the leather carrying strap that came with the tripod. I always wondered whether this was the correct strap or a replacement. The style of the strap does not look very German to me, but I may be wrong. Appreciate any comments that you might have.
