ww2 German 8mm ammo at SOS

There were a couple guys selling 8mm ap tracer rounds at the SOS. I should have got a couple boxs but I didn't and now im wishing I would have. Does anyone know who it was who had it for sale or how to get a hold of one of the sellers? Since I have been home I have been wishing I would have got a couple boxes for my rifle display. If anyone can help me out pm me or reply to this thread please.

Also can anyone give me some info on the 8mm APT rds? Were they made and used mainly for the belt feed machine guns? Were they used or issued to any other weapons crews? How about the 8mm mgs that were in the bombers and other aircraft could they have been used in them? Any info you guys can give me on them would be great thanks in advance.

I bought 8 boxes from the guy at the back of the hall at the left side , he sell for $8 a box ,3 for $20 and 4 for $25 ,I bought 4 first and came back for 4 more! if you got the SOS book that you pick up at the door he should be at roll P,Q.or O at # 15 , he has a few boxes on table for display and got more under the table too , you can try to contact them through the dealer directory inside the brochure! , also I bought 8 boxes of 9MM ( 16 rd box ) WW2 German ammo for $10 a box ! I think those were the deal at the show for German ammo.

I think those APT were use mainly on MG , mostly on air I think , and most likely not for the foot soldier with the K98 because of the exposure on your own position at the same time, anyone can charm in?

    Good luck for hunting !

I would suggest a box or two of sS (ball) or SmE (heavy ball) ammo for your rifle display... That would have been the most common ammo released to rifle troops.

The sS ammo can be identified by the green ring around the primer, while the SmE has a blue ring.

Thats him your rite it was 8bucks a box and he had 9mm to. I have the book do you remember his name by chance? I would like to order a couple boxs from him I regret not getting it at the show. But you know how it is its so much there. I didn't go for ammo so I wasn't planning on getting any but I saw it and thought about it the whole way home.

Do any of you guys know were to get a couple boxes of SS ammo for my rifle? That would be cool to really I would like a couple boxes of both. So if you guys know were to get a couple boxes let me know.

I didn't got the chance to know his name ,as I say he locate at somewhere between isle Q to O at #15 ( or 29 , chart at center page ) and find the name and contact # through the dealer directory ,remember sending live ammo is a pain in the ass! and costly too!! if you couldn't find him this time then maybe wait for the next gun show , by the way I remember the other dealer selling this ammo are for the MG as print on label .

I agree that the sS (schwere Spitze) and SmE (Spitze mit Eisen) are the best for a display. While the prices were good, German WWII ammo can be purchased at most good gun shows.

In fact I still see 300-round battle packs.

Most of the AP rounds (black primers, and most of the red primer ammo) were made for use in aircraft. There seem to be endless variations in German ammo.

I think it is easy to ship ammo via UPS.
