G43 back in shooting condition

I have to throw out some credit to Rob at Apfeltor. He restored the sporterized sight on my G43 I just bought and it looks great. Wouldn't know it had been restored if I hadn't paid for it myself.

Hope to get some rounds through it in the next week or so with the new shooting kit I also purchased.

Nice restoration, I have bought some parts from Rob and he does great work, never had him do a restoration, but he has some nice example work on his website.... BCD/Gustloff Werke rifles were made at the Buchenwald KZ...reject rates were high from what I remember reading, and some weapons were intentionally sabotaged during production. Apparently not drilling the gas hole completely through was a common method of sabotage. Make sure you also got the shooters kit from Rob to lower gas pressure on the bolt and receiver. Chris..

Wow - the guy did a great job of making the best of a bad situation re: the "Bubba" damage to the rear sight.

I still don't get the rationale behind bubba removing an adjustable sight and replacing it with another adjustable sight. I could see putting a scope mount on it, but seems like they went to a lot of work back in the 60's or 70's for nothing.
