Help Please With this G 98/40

I acquired this rifle with a collection of militaria I purchased a while ago. I don't know much about these. It is marked jhv 41. The only downside I found is that while the majority of the gun is matching, including the stock, the bolt and bolt assembly is a different number but matched to itself.

This is outside my field of collecting, and I thought I might take it to the SOS. But any information would be a great asset, especially a ballpark value for a rifle in this condition.

Well, I'm afraid you answered your own question. What you have is a mis-matched G98/40.

It's not un-common to find a MM G98/40. It's very difficult to find one all matching these days!

The good news is your's appears to be in excellent condition! And it hasn't been sporterized!
The bad news is the bolt is mismatched, it's missing the sight hood, and it appears as though someone put a K98 cleaning rod in it.(too long)

I would think it would be a very easy to sell rifle just on the condition. I'd say around $900, but I could be wrong?

Thank you so much for your help! I will bring this rifle to Louisville and see if anyone there has an interest. It doesn't fit in with my collection as I try and concentrate on pistols primarily.
