New Find of MG 13 Mags - Pouches & Stuff Plus MG42 Drums?

    Hey y'all:

One of my picker pals just turned up a nice stash of what I'm thinking are pretty good mags, pouches, and boxes.

I'm pretty sure the curved mags are for the MG13, most all are dated 1938 and nicely proofed...several are gooped up with cosmoline. The belts are cool and used around the neck from a photo or two I saw.

Notice the swaz is backwards on the wood box.

So is this stuff "good" and is there an interest in such equipment?

    Thanks!

Definately MG-13 and 34/42 assault drums.

I'd say the MG13 mags, pouches and metal box are Portuguese contract as they are dated 1938. The stenciled eagle on the box is a fake. The MG34-42 drums might be Yugo origin, original or post war, so you should try to find german stamps on them to confirm. The canvas case with leather strap doesn't look german to me, and I can imagine it is Yugo with a fake WaA stamp, but not sure. The market is plenty of this kind of stuff..

Yes, the Mg34 drums have certainly been repainted, as a minimum. I agree the eagle stamp is bogus.

A number of Mg13 mags and pouches just like those just popped up from an "supposed" estate in Pa and headed south through some dealers.

Not easy stuff to move, IMO.

Looks like a lot of the stuff that IMA-USA is selling. The painted eagle w/ backward swas is pretty funny.

The MG13 stuff is still neat but, probably not the easiest to sell at a high price. The MG34/42 drums and carrier should go for good money though. Theres lots of guys with those.

There are military supply houses that are selling the MG13's , complete in the magazine cans, right out of the catalog.

Just made a post about that. I think you should contact your picker and find out where he got them. Then contact IMA.

                              wow!

Ykes! I'm glad I did not take the stuff off his hands. After I posted the stuff and got the word IMA sold the same thing, I passed on what he had.

Even if his batch was not hot, I'm glad I walked!

                              Thanks, Skip
