    Gun show find 9mm Radom

This one walked in today to the gun show. I already have one but I could not pass on it. I think the more rare think is both mags are german marked. And is this proper German sholder holster?

    Thank you for looking

    regards RD

Mags are not that uncommon. German-marked can be had usually for about $100. The brown grips look the best on those- you won't find many supporters here for the shoulder holsters though!

The last one I got that one does not have a marked mags so that is why I said that. Gun was in this holster for some time, it fits perfect and the extra mag also. But I do not know if that is original German holster or something added on later on.

The consensus is that these are holsters made postwar for occupation soldiers in the pattern of the GI shoulder holster for the 1911A1. There is room for argument though.

The pistol is a nice late war (Variation III) VIS35, with those beautiful brown grips.
The holster, however, is not made for German use. It is a common sens that these were made for GIs to carry their trophies in the field. There are pictures of this kind of shoulder holster in use by American soldiers - but none by Germans.

                              Nice bringback.
