    K98k-Zf41 sniper picture

Hi, I have recently bought a photograph of soldiers with a K98k-Zf41. There was no information on when and where it was taken, but I presume it was at the eastern front, after 1943.
Here it is, hope you enjoy!

Some close-ups. The K98k seems to be 41 or 42 made, and the ZF41 is an early type. (See more close-up on my webpage.)

The Obergefreiter with MP40. The holster seems a little unusual to me. (I mean it is not P08 or P38.) Can anyone tell me what this small pistol is?

              Id'ing the pistol

Looks like a possible CZ27 from the magazine toe and the lanyard loop.

                Thank you for the info.
It does look like a Cz27 holster.

Is that a coast artillery badge? (Maybe a bit off-topic)
                  Kind regards,

I thought it is an Infantry Assalt Badge.
                    Any opinion on this?

                      What the badge is...

The Abzeichen in the picture worn by the Obergefrieter with the MP-40 is most definitely a Heer Flak badge.

                        Correction...

Sorry gents for my last "too quick reply". Upon second look, perhaps it is in fact a Kustenartillerie Abzeichen? This would suggest a transferr from the Kriegsmarine? Hmmm?

Definately a Coastal Artillery badge, maybe these are coastal artillery personnel?
Don't forget, it doesn't necessarily have to be eastern front, if there are no markings on the photo, who's to say these soldiers aren't on a clifftop in Normandy guarding the defences?

I agree. Judging from the holster and magazine floorplate and mag release, it does look like a P27 to me.

The badge worn, looks definately like a coastal artillery badge. I use to collect badges before I became committed to firearms. It's very possible that this photo was taken in the West in 1944. Really impossible to tell though.
Very nice photo though. Very clear showing good weapons usage. I like it!
