    MG34- 42 Anti Aircraft Sight

    Hi!
I need your opinion about 2 MG anti aircraft sight; are they original inspected or not?
In addiction, the MG34 one has a round marking, the firm I think..

I ask this because many times postwar- eastern europe unmarked sights are marked with german acceptance stamps..

    Thank you!

they look ok to me, nice early ones, the Later mg42 ones were made out of stamped metal.

        Hello Argan,

The first one is a bad one for sure. Please see the following thread:

        http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...nner%27s+pouch

I would need more detailed pics of the second one to confirm it is a good one. Please shoot some detailed pics of the side of the ring and some of the 'foot'.

          MG42 Kreiskorn

          Hi,
I had one of those MG42 sights with the two rings. Mine came via a German friend who also bought some from....................Italy! The story being they were recovered from a ship sunk in an Italian harbour.
Mine is the same construction - see pics. It went back and I still have a first pattern MG42 Kreiskorn about which I'm not totally convinced, but it wasn't a ridiculous price when I first bought it a long time ago. Coincidentally at that time I was shown an MG34 sight made by the Birmingham metalwork wizard.
The odd thing about these sights is that the rings are of an even earlier type (MG08?) but welded onto the rod of the second pattern MG42 sight with the triangular supports below which is usually on the pressed steel sight.
The first pattern sight does not have these.
Just to finish off I have included some pics of a second pattern pressed steel sight bought this year at Beltring from a French dealer (I should have known better - but it looked OK at the time). I shall be selling this one off in the New Year but suitably described.
          Be careful out there!

I had one of these stamped kind many years ago. I got it in Poland in 1989, if I'm not mistaken. I sold it because I didn't collect MG42 by then. I still don't collect MG42 but I have an almost complete pouch with the AA sight missing

Your circular logo is for Remo-Gewehr-Fabrik Gebrüder Rempt- this company was located in Suhl so the E/37 inspection is correct for the maker. I have a company header with this logo on it.

Yes, that logo looks good. In fact I also had one with that same logo. The problem is when fakers copy waffenamts they might also copy logos. Anyhow some extra pics will help to confirm it is a good one.
