Hello guys I wanted to ask if any forum members own a original FG42 sniper rifle they could show us and talk about. Guess im like the rest of the TR weapons collectors out there its the holy grail of TR rifles to me. Of course I have googled them and read what I could seems to be alot of diffrent info on when they were first used, how many were made and there effectiveness. Can anyone that owns one tell me how it shoots are they accurate? Few yrs ago at the Knob Creek machine gun shoot I was lucky enough to be able to handle one. The owner was a nice guy to let a poor Ky boy who had a better shot at winning the lottery then being able to buy it. It was a earlier model with metal stock and slanted grip let me tell you she was a real bute. For some reason I always thought the grip moved from the slanted position to the normal vertical position. But it felt good in hand now his didn't have a optical sight on it. Only seen one or two at the gun shows and im not sure if they were rite or not. Well I would love to hear about yours and the optics and how she shoots. My question is would it have been worth further efforts to manufacturer them for use buy a/b troops. Of course if time and money was not a concern. Was it in the end a good rifle for what it was made for? By the way how about the recoil does the break help on full auto? Thanks guys and if anyones in the _Christmas spirit and would like to give me some range time on there's I have the range and ammo if you got the time.
