    Luger magazine question

For the Luger guys, is a Portugese M2 7.65 Luger magazine the same as any 9mm magazine? I have quite a few Lugers and extra magazines. Most will hold either a 9mm or 7.65 some only a 9mm. so I was wondering if they would take a different mag. or not. I could see how the ones that will only hold a 9mm in them could be flared out or worn a little to not hold a 7.65. Thanks in advance for the info. Van...

The magazines (Luger 9mm or 7.65) should be interchaneable if in good condition. The cartridge length was the same and the case dia. was as well until the 7.65 neck.

The orignal M2 came with wood base mags stamped with a triangle in a circle on the wood bottom I believe.

There is no difference whatever in Luger magazines. Any of them will interchange with either the .30 Luger or 9MM cartridge.

The .30 is simply a necked down 9MM.

        magazine

The M2's are 7.65 which is .32 auto isn't it? Not 30 Luger? .32 is a bit smaller in length and diameter than 9mm. That's why I was thinking maybe they had a special mag. I checked all my mags. again and only my later WWII ones will hold a .32.

.30 calibre Lugers like the M2 shoot the 7.65 Parabellum also called and labled .30 Calibre Luger. Don't even think about trying to fire a .32 auto round in a Luger.

The only way you could get a .32 Auto to fire in a .30 Luger (maybe) would be to drop it in the chamber and point it straight up.
