Highe prices for some weopens and associated tackle.

Hi,just been searching the web to see what I'd like but can't afford!
How about £3,750 for a G43 with a repro sight mount! Not a rare gun (like the G41) I've seen a few for sale this year, yes that's nearly $6,000 for a gun that you can no longer shoot!
How about £6,200 (nearly $10,000)for an Portuguese MG34 but with it's transport box, contents and the lafette with optics and battery box.To finish with an MG42 plus lafette and optics for a more affordable price of £4,200. All I can say is I'm glad I got mine when I did because I couldn't afford them now(even allowing for inflation and wage increases),cripes I could buy a decent car or bike for that money and still have some left over.Best regards David.

Supply and Demand, don't buy at what you think are high prices and they will drop... Nothing new here and I am sure there were overpriced goods when you bought yours... All paper money is worthless in the end and so its worth at any one point is meaningless for comparing. Finally is the point just to complain about some random high prices you saw? If you really want to complain about high prices on firearms, you should be complaining about the restrictions on trade thanks to western Governments.

Certainly not complaining after all it's up to the indvidual how they spend their money.Just amazed at the amount some of this gear is fetching and Idon't see much price dropping of late.If you want to complain about something worth complaining about how about the bankers in America who've got us into this mess.Really interesting program on TV last night called "Inside Job" a real eye opener about the crooks in the banking business and how they got away with it.Regards David.

        Hans,

Prices do adjust with the economy. By way of example, here in the U.S. prices for collectable machineguns have dropped by about 20% to 25% in the past 3-4 years. In fact, prices on such collectables have now retreated to about where they were circa 1990, thus erasing about a decade's worth of appreciation.

Again, what we see with prices of collectable guns is all suppy/demand economics (with, in the case of firearms, the supply/demand equation being significantly altered by applicable laws and regulations in each marketplace).

Hey, I am all for hanging a bunch of Bankers, Politicians and Lawyers... We are getting screwed in the US just as bad by these people.

But... no one forced you to take USD... I think Europe can pretty much blame itself for two suicidal wars that put you into the position you are now...

Also its only high end MGs that are cheaper... Low end MGs are just as high or higher as the demand for cheaper guns goes up. Macs are more now than ever!

            prices!!!!

G'day Guys, I will agree with the supply and demand statement; the rule of thumb in buying and selling. Spare a thought for a country where there is not that much of a supply in the first place but the demand surpasses the supply. My first k98k cost me $450 all matching numbers, now they have reached around $1000 mark and as for mg's well forget them.
            Regards Steve.

And don't forget our machine gun supply is limited because of a certain congressman from New Jersey.

MG dealers in the US don't support any amnesty legislation, which would bring more MGs on the market and lower prices. They have been speculating and controlling the market, in order to raise profits. When 1 MG dealer offered me a scoped FG42 for $175k, he said it will go up $25k in a year.

Greed is the root cause of everything you guys mention: governments, politicians, citizens, lawyers, bankers, doctors, cops, universities, businesses, unions, dealers, collectors, etc, etc.........

                  Willi is correct !!
remember again, seems less younger people wanting to be collectors. so some of the supply will collect dust = money sitting on a shelf. then big bills come , prices drop to pay these bills , ect.
I own many of the mg's (all dummies) , but still find them from time to time priced good. stuff still comes out of the wood work too. got my g-43 from the G.I.'s son at a show = real cheap.
got out my licence & money out , turned around to find 6 guys standing behind me waiting for me to put it down !!
some times it IS the dealers.... sitting on many items, releasing one at a time for higher prices. specially k-98s. or g-43 parts .
Plus we have specialists collecting tons of the same item, so it may seem in one area to be few of them to be found , so a local dealer jumps the price up a bit at a show.

I think the UN has a bit to do with it too. It's such a great idea for only the police forces and military forces of the world to be armed to protect the rest of us from harm.

I have a real problem with all this control. I will probably be forced to sell my DEWAT StG44, because the state and county to which I am moving in a couple of weeks isn't MG of-any- variety-friendly. I've had it since 1967. Really p****s me off.
