hi power holster?

Hello gentlemen are the black hi power holsters rare? I have seen 5 times as many brown ones. Was it just supply and demand?

I wouldn't say that they are rare. Most of the black Hi -power holsters are actually brown holsters that have been dyed black.

Are they died black before they are put together or after?

Shine a light into the bottom of the magazine pouch..whatever color is in there is the holsters original color.

I picked one up that obviously was done befor it was made.

If it is dyed black it was most likely done during the war. I wouldn't see why anyone would dye a brown holster black post war, unless it was used (issued) post war.
